Thanksgiving 2007

Thanksgiving always includes lots of good food to share with family. This year was no different, and thanks to everyone that came we had plenty of delicious food to share.

Stacey brought a few crafts along to keep you busy. She had the boys make Pilgrim hats and Danny was happy to show off his.
Each year I try to get all the ladies in the family together for a photo.

This year I managed to get our men together for a group shot. As you
can see, they were reluctant but they still posed. Aren't they a handsome group? Can you tell which one likes to be Santa?

Stacey also had a "What I'm Thankful For" tree that we each made a "leaf" for. On that leaf we wrote what we were thankful for. It was very sweet to read each leaf and know that the branches of our family are strong. Yes, it was another year of giving thanks for all the blessings we have!

September is here!

It's hard to believe that summer is coming to an end. late August and this first part of September brought SoCal some very warm days. I'm sure there are many who are looking forward to cooler days. With school back in session, football season underway (Go Bruins!), and the Los Angeles County fair is underway I'm sure you have plenty of photos waiting to be cropped.

Speaking of cropping, September is also the month my friends Kristie Lippert and Julie Fackler are hosting their Scrapping for Soldiers events. I'm sure they are more than ready and each will have a successful crop and a fun day for those that attend. I'm vendoring at a crop hosted by Scrapbook Culture at Pachanga Casino Resort on September 22nd. If you'd like to attend, give me a call it would be fun to see you there. I also have a day crop on the 15th with the MeetUp group in Chino so marked your calendar for that too.

Now, while I don't want to stress anyone out, you do realize Christmas is around the corner? I've got the perfect gift idea for all of you. TLC introducted their Limited Edition Jingle Chatter Book and it's got everything you'll need to create a beautiful holiday gift. I'll be hosting a workshop in October to get you stared on those special gifts so contact me right away to reserve you spot. Don't forget to contact me for your Jingle bookz order too!

I've been so busy getting ready for Scrapping For Soldiers, on August 25th that I've neglected keeping my blog up to date. While I'm still pressed for time, I want to remind everyone that there is still time to get your space reserved and I to let you know that we now have Scrapping for Soldiers products available. It's been great going through all the wonderful donations that so many companies graciously sent to Jules for our crops. You'll love the "goodies" that you will get at the crop. So send in your reservations today to reserve your cropping space.

If you can't attend the crop but would like to show your support, you can simply send a donation or you can order from Cafe Press (by clicking the link below) and order some nice items. The proceeds will still go to Soldier's Angles who will buy calling cards for our service men and women that are stationed away from home. Well, it's time for me to get back to prepping for the big crop. If you have any questions feel free to contact me scrapinsooz@yahoo.com, and don't forget to shop at Cafe Press!

2006 Family Photos, Digital Album

This was made using LifeTimez by Topline Creations. It has to be the easiest digital scrapbooking software I've found. Not only can I create fun ablums but I use it to create cards, announcements, business cards, post cards and more. It is such a fun program, you have got to try it for yourself! I hope you enjoy viewing my pages.

Stacey's Day

A while back I asked Stacey how she would like to celebrate her upcoming birthday. Without a thought she replied, "I'd like to spend the entire day scrapbooking at your house." So I planned a day for her sister, cousins and I to spend the day scrapbooking, cropping, card making or whatever, at my house. I set out food and set up my family room for our cropping spaces and we spent the entire day doing just that.

Stacey's two sons (my grandsons) came along and were great. I had left just enough room so that they could play around the train table and when they wanted to go out back, I turned on their Elmo sprinkler and set up some shade around their climber. Stacey was able to complete most of what she hoped to scrapbook and the rest of us had fun working on our projects. We had way too many "goodies" to munch on so the left overs were sent home with Stacey.

Living relatively close to my family makes it so easy to gather and spend time together. I can't imagine how life would be without them. Children and grandchildren sure make life worth all the struggles and challenges that we face in our lifetime. I cannot think of a greater reward than the hug and affection of my grandchildren. I don't know who enjoyed Stacey's birthday celebration more, me or Stacey?

I had Kristie take a look at my creation and she made some good suggestions. I made the changes and this is what it looks like now. Here is my new business card with the LTz designs on it. I hope you all like it as much as I do!

All's quiet...for now.

Sabrina is adapting well to her new home and I've enjoyed the pleasure of having her so near to where I live and work. Mommy and Daddy have been very generous by letting me stop in almost every day since she's been home. Today I have my two grandsons, and both have a cold so we are staying away.

This is always such a wonderful time for me; the days I have my two boys! DJ is growing much to quickly and seems to be losing that "baby" boy in him. He's always such a treat to have over because there is always something new I discover about him. He's too bright for Grandma, that's for sure. His little brother Riley is also growing up too fast. Riley is still a cuddle bug and he still let's me rock him when he's tired. He's a pistol and loves to be mimic his older brother. Riley has a personality all his own, and charming as every. I guess they get that from there Mommy.

While they napped today (can you believe they are down at the same time? I should be napping too) I was busy trying to create a new business card with my LifeTimez software program. Actually, it was with another program but importing the designs from LifeTimez. As my friend Kristie will attest to, I'm not much of a techie when it comes to computers. Maybe you shouldn't ask her, I'm not sure what she'd say when it comes to my computer skills, or lack of them. So, I created a new card but I haven't been able to figure out how to save it so that I can share it for comments from my CC partners. If only Kristie lived next door.....she'd probably not answer the door. :)

If I can ever figure it out, I'll post it here for your comments too.

Waiting for Baby!

Well, my oldest is in the hospital waiting for her baby to decide to make it's entrance. This little baby has kept us in the dark as to whether it's a boy or a girl, and the suspence just continues...

Great Little Scrapbook Store....

Today I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners of a local scrapbook store called Chino Scrapbook Company. Nora, the co-owner, gave me a tour of the store and their class rooms. Nora invited me to become one of their instructors and we will be working on selecting projects and a schedule.

The Chino Scrapbook Company has now become the location for the Chino/Montclair & Friends MeetUp group. Our first MeetUp will be Saturday, June 16th at 10:00 a.m. I will also use their class rooms from time to time, for my TLC group. So keep tabs on what's coming up. Be sure to check out their website at www.chinoscrapbookcompany.com

Five Weeks of Hard Work Pays Off!

Five weeks ago Julie Berg (Jules as we call her) told me I need to get ready to promote to Director with TLC before May 31st because she had a plan that include the Creative Commotion team (Jules, Julie, Kristie and me). I wasn't sure I could do it but with her plan, support and constant ability to keep me focused I got there. Julie Fackler and Kristie Lippert were also a big help not to mention the added inspiration to keep trying harder. Jan Pepe was always there to offer advice and support. You can't ask for a better Team Leader. How could I not succeed with such a strong team of women behind me? What make this even better?

Well, I had the pleasure of making this leap side by side Julie and Kristie (Jules qualified a week before us but close enough for us to feel we did it together!!!! Friday evening we all celebrated via Yahoo Instant Messenger. Since we are located in three different states, many miles apart, it was the next best thing and it was a riot. We each had our celebratory chocolate treats and we laughed and joked for a over an hour. I think Julie's husband thought we were crazy, but it was fun.

Along with my promotion to Director came Corianna and Stacey's promotion to Advisor. How wonderful to see them promote the same week too! This was a sweet week for all of us.

My Creative Commotions sisters (Jules, Julie and Kristie) are fired up and can't wait to tackle our next challenge. Yes, Jules had more plans and lists for us. So keep watching and jump on board because we have some fun things going this summer!
WOOHOO, I did it!

It's Memorial Day Weekend!

It's Friday and the start of Memorial Day weekend. Do any of you have any special plans for this holiday weekend? I'm waiting for my new grandbaby to arrive and hoping it will be this weekend. Momma says it's probably not going to be, since it is her first. I can only hope.
I also hope to scrap all weekend long. I've got cards to complete and projects to get ready for my next class. This is just about all I've thought about over the last two days, scrapbooking for 3 days!!!
I have several new team members in my group and I'm hoping they have gotten their new kits so they can play and scrap this weekend too. I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing except spend time with my grandsons. I hope you all have a scrap happy weekend!

Thursday, May 24, 2007

Well, today I was reading Jule's blog and she had this link to Melodee Langworhty's blog. Being the curious person that I am, I went o see what it was about. I have to say, she has some awesome designs so I thought I would share it with you. when you have a chance take a look at her designs, there's some very nice things there. http://melodeelangworthy.typepad.com/
Another site Jules shared is Life as Lou. This is another very talented lady. Take a peek at her Artsy-Fartsy Scrapbooking Stuff. Very neat ideas. http://lifeaslou.blogsome.com/

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Moms out there! Today is your day to be pampered and spoiled so I hope your loved ones show you all the care you deserve. I'm on my way out to enjoy the day with family at my sister's house where we will probably eat too much while sitting pool side all day. I'm taking my notebook computer so I can get some digital scrapping done and hopefully be able to say I "scrapped" today. With the grandsons around I doubt I'll have time for any of that. They grow up way to fast to pass up the opportunity to play with them.
Happy Mother's Day!

This week I realized there were so many people that had not been told about the awesome recruitment promotion that Top Line Creations (TLC) is offering and time is running down. I spent most of my time sharing this incredible offer and doing my best to get the word out there. By Thursday I was rolling full steam ahead. After sharing the Limited Edition Hybrid kit information with some co-workers I had three sign up.

I signed two under my downline (DL) Stacey Devine and one under another DL, Corianna Okada-Rawe. Corianna now has three placing her in the running to promote this month to Adisor! Tuesday we may have more since three people overheard me talking about the kit and expressed an interest. Stacey will soon be right there with Corianna in the Advisor's corner!

Do I see Director in the horizon?

TLC has so many wonderful products and they make it so easy for every scrapper to take advantage of saving money while getting quality products. Whether you're looking to save some money on your favorite hobby or thinking of having added income (maybe a home based business), TLC has the answers. There's never been a better opportunity to join TLC, the LE Hybrid kit offers you both digital and paper scrapbook products that are not only beautiful but high quality. The LE Hybrid kit is such an exceptional value at $90.00 (plus shipping, U.S. dollars), with a $375.00 value but all good things come to an end. This promotion ends May 31, 2007 so don't delay, contact me at scrapinsooz@yahoo.com or visit my site at www.topline-creations.com.

Welcome Olivia and Joanna!

Spending the day having a crop was a great way to celebrate National Scrapbook week. I was also happy to have two guests that were new to TLC, Joanna and Olivia. Well, after seeing TLC's super deal with the LE Hybrid kit, Joanna and Olivia could not resist. My downline Corianna had invited them to their first TLC crop and they loved all the old and new TLC products! As we were winding up, both Joanna and Olivia signed up with the LE Hybrid kit. Way to go Corianna! I'm happy to welcome both girls into the TLC family.

How many more can we introduce to TLC and welcome into such a great family? I know my three Creative Commotion sisters are rockin' n rollin' with this, are you? I can barely keep step, so let's keep this party going!

Easter Weekend

Today is Good Friday and I thought it was a good time to drop a note about this special season. Everyday should be a day we give thanks for all the blessings we have received each moment of our lives. Even for the blessings we have yet to realize, we don't always take the time to do so. There are always a few times a year that we can't help but be reminded to do so, one of those times being Easter.
I'd like to take this time to thank my TLC girlfriends that have helped me stay focused even when I'm derailed by "life" and seem to lose my way. Three have been especially special these past few months. Julie B., Julie F., and Kristie have been a blessing in my life that I truly give thanks for each day. Their friendship means more than even the enormous amount of help they consistantly offer. I wish everyone friendships like the ones I've been blessed with.
My family has always been there I do not take that for granted either. I hope all of you have the best Easter ever!

Can't Wait for the Weekend

Yes, I love my weekends. This is the week I get my darling grandsons. I'm hoping all will go as planned and we can bake a delicious chocolate cake in honor of my wonderful friend, Kristie! Although she is hundreds of miles away, we plan to bake, decorate and celebrate just for her.
I'm also looking forward to working on some paper scrapping and completing some simple layouts. My Creative Commotion partners have left me sitting in the dust, but then again that's what happens when you don't get moving yourself. I have a lot of catching up to do!
Julie (or Jules as we like to call her) is celebrating her son's graduation. It seems he worked extra hard to graduate early so he can start his basic training. I'm excited for his accomplishments, but I am concerned that he is going active duty. I guess that's just the "mom" in me, because mostly I'm proud of the path he chose. It's great that so many young adults still have the desire to serve our country even in non-peaceful times. Jules, I wish him the best!

March Madness

It seems like March has been a very hectic month for me. A lot of changes going on that have kept me distracted from my favorite hobby, scrapbooking. I'm determined to change that in these coming weeks.
I'm excited about the new line TLC has just introduced and I can't wait to post some of the projects I made using this new line. My fellow consultants, and partners in crime, have been gracious enough to share their creative ideas so what you will see is a result of their sharing. In the meantime, I hope you like some of the pages I've done using the existing line of TLC papers, and some of the discontinued line. Keep an eye out for some photos to be posted soon.

Winding down for the weekend to come!

It's my Friday, which means it's actually Thursday for me. I've had a busy week with lots to do both at home and at work. As a result, I wasn't able to post as often or get as many things done as I'd plan.
I've been thinking about where I'd like to be in eight years. That's when I hope to retire, yes, eight more years. I've thought about staying where I'm at currently in SoCal or moving to a less congested area. Unfortunately, I cannot think of any place in California that is not congested. So I started to think about other states. The problem with that is that my family is here.
I've enjoyed all the time, be it limited due to my job, that I get with my grandsons and the freedom to see my daughters at any given time. I can't help but wonder if I could adjust to not seeing them so regularly. That's not to say that I see them every week, sometimes it's only every other week, but I do see them. My sister lives within 10 miles and my parents are only a 30 minute drive from me. I have a close knit family so the thought of moving is very hard for me. We enjoy celebrating holidays, birthdays, and whatever else we feel like celebrating together.
So, there it is, where do I settle for retirement.

Friday, March 2, 2007

Well, I spent the day yesterday scrambling around trying to get things done but it seemed as though each time I tried to accomplish a task something went wrong. I had painters here working from 8:30 a.m. until almost 5:30, I had to run and get more paint, and then someone arrived early!!! All and all it was an exciting day filled with lots of little adventures, even if they weren't the type of adventures I'd choose.
It's funny on even the best laid plans can get derailed so easily. I missed an important meeting yesterday. I am part of a group called Care and Company. We do outreach to the Inland Empire in Southern California. It's a Christian ministry group and we are going to have a food bank and many other services available to those in need. If any of you have ideas on fundraising for this non-profit group please share them. We are always looking for something new.

Playing with my wonderful digital software program by Topline Creations called Life Timez has been such fun. When I find I don't have time to pull out my paper scrap supplies I can always get several pages done with this digital program. A great perk to this is having the ability to create one album for multiple people just ONCE! How cool is that?

Naturally, my favorite subjects are my children and grandchildren. When I get to missing them, I pull up to the computer and create away. Spending time recalling the fun and joy they give me is a great way to end a hectic day. There's nothing like loving memories of your loved ones to fall asleep with.

Monday, February 26, 2007

I've been playing with my Life Timez software program tonight. Yes, I should be doing other things tonight but I desperately needed to get some scrapbooking time in. While this is digital scrapping, it is still feeding my need to scrap.

I cannot tell you how revitalizing it is to be able to sit back and create some pages. Pages of photos that mean so much to me, and memories that will be in my heart forever. Knowing that these photos will be preserved for generations to come is an awesome feeling. How could anyone not treasure these books?

Sunday, February 25, 2007

It's Sunday morning and I had the pleasure of having DJ an extra night. We didn't get a lot accomplished but we definately had fun. He's busy at this moment playing with his trains and I'm trying to rush to get a little something posted here.
I noticed that I got my girl to start her own blog. She's really much more creative and witty than I am so it will be a treat to see what she posts from time to time. She's a very busy young lady so I know I won't expect to see her daily.
I'm almost set with clearing, cleaning, toss and purging things out of my house. Now I'm concentrating on organizing my scrapbook room. I need to get busy booking parties, events and finding events to vendor at. I want my scrap biz to grow and it won't do that unless I feed it. So, here's to finding the food for growth!

Saturday, February 24, 2007

Weekends aren't long enough!

It's already Saturday morning and I'm looking at the long list of things to do and wondering how I'm going to fit them all in. First thing up was having breakfast with DJ. We've got Thomas and Friends on PBS going and we've finished our eats.
I have to tackle more purging in the garage. Boy can I accumulate "stuff" and over 30 years in one place has proven that. It's amazing the things one can find in boxes stuck up in the garage. It's also been a little bit of a trip down memory lane. Remember when Cabbage Patch dolls were the rage? Well I've even found a box load of those out there.
Before I start in the garage we are off to the paint store. I just found out that my new house mate will be here in one week not two and I desperately need to paint that bedroom. It looks like a long day here but the end results will be worth the work.
I can't wait for a day of scrapbooking!

Friday, February 23, 2007

It's really Friday!

This was my week with my grandsons and as usual it was a wonderful day. When I stop and watch them move about I realize how fast life has flown by. It seems like it was just a short time ago when their mother was doing similar things at that same age. It's hard to believe that much time has passed by. So before I go to bed for the night I've started my own list of resolutions.

I know traditionally one is supposed to make these resolutions on New Year's day but I was never one to follow that tradition. For some reason at this point it just seems appropriate. Before too much of life slips pass me I want to be sure and meet some goals and realize some dreams. I know with the support of my wonderful girlfriends I can do just about anything.

Well, it's time for bed and my four year old grandson decided to spend the night. So we are up later than we should be and I need to spend some last minute quality time with him. I wish you all sweet dreams and a good night's rest.

Thursday, February 22, 2007

Well, with the help of my friends and a lot of encouragement, I think I finally got a picture posted here. This is a real learning experience here. I don't know how I would have ever found the nerve to give it shot without them.

It's the weekend for me and I can't wait to get some scrapping done. The weather will be cool for SoCal but that makes it even better to work inside. If you're a scrapper, drop me a line.

Don't forget the Oscar's on Sunday. What are your favorites for this year?

End of the week

I'm fortunate enough to work a 4/10 so today is my Friday. What makes this even better is it's PAYDAY, WOOHOO! I am also lucky enough to have a job that I enjoy and comes easy for me so I really can't complain. My real passion is scrapbooking and even though I haven't been doing it for as long as some, I found I'm actually pretty darn good at it.

I'm trying to build a business through scrapbooking that I hope, will only enhance my life. So far it has. Through scrapbooking I have not only created some beautiful books that my family can enjoy for generations but I have met and made so many wonderful new friends. I have yet to meet someone at a scrapbook event that hasn't been anything but helpful and friendly. If you haven't tried it, you really must give it a shot. It's the end of my work week and it's coming up on the end of most of yours, so find a scrapbook friend and share some quality time creating great memories.

Looking for help

This is my first attempt at creating a blog and I'm hoping some of you more experienced bloggers will lend constructive advice. I'm also hoping for some computer savy people that can guide through the learning process of the wonderful world of the web. That said, please accept this as an invitation to help me along.

I've just spend about 30 minutes trying to get to this point so tell me what you think. This has been long over due so I'm hoping this will be a rewarding experience. I did it and I'm here, at last!
