Can't Wait for the Weekend

Yes, I love my weekends. This is the week I get my darling grandsons. I'm hoping all will go as planned and we can bake a delicious chocolate cake in honor of my wonderful friend, Kristie! Although she is hundreds of miles away, we plan to bake, decorate and celebrate just for her.
I'm also looking forward to working on some paper scrapping and completing some simple layouts. My Creative Commotion partners have left me sitting in the dust, but then again that's what happens when you don't get moving yourself. I have a lot of catching up to do!
Julie (or Jules as we like to call her) is celebrating her son's graduation. It seems he worked extra hard to graduate early so he can start his basic training. I'm excited for his accomplishments, but I am concerned that he is going active duty. I guess that's just the "mom" in me, because mostly I'm proud of the path he chose. It's great that so many young adults still have the desire to serve our country even in non-peaceful times. Jules, I wish him the best!

March Madness

It seems like March has been a very hectic month for me. A lot of changes going on that have kept me distracted from my favorite hobby, scrapbooking. I'm determined to change that in these coming weeks.
I'm excited about the new line TLC has just introduced and I can't wait to post some of the projects I made using this new line. My fellow consultants, and partners in crime, have been gracious enough to share their creative ideas so what you will see is a result of their sharing. In the meantime, I hope you like some of the pages I've done using the existing line of TLC papers, and some of the discontinued line. Keep an eye out for some photos to be posted soon.

Winding down for the weekend to come!

It's my Friday, which means it's actually Thursday for me. I've had a busy week with lots to do both at home and at work. As a result, I wasn't able to post as often or get as many things done as I'd plan.
I've been thinking about where I'd like to be in eight years. That's when I hope to retire, yes, eight more years. I've thought about staying where I'm at currently in SoCal or moving to a less congested area. Unfortunately, I cannot think of any place in California that is not congested. So I started to think about other states. The problem with that is that my family is here.
I've enjoyed all the time, be it limited due to my job, that I get with my grandsons and the freedom to see my daughters at any given time. I can't help but wonder if I could adjust to not seeing them so regularly. That's not to say that I see them every week, sometimes it's only every other week, but I do see them. My sister lives within 10 miles and my parents are only a 30 minute drive from me. I have a close knit family so the thought of moving is very hard for me. We enjoy celebrating holidays, birthdays, and whatever else we feel like celebrating together.
So, there it is, where do I settle for retirement.

Well, I spent the day yesterday scrambling around trying to get things done but it seemed as though each time I tried to accomplish a task something went wrong. I had painters here working from 8:30 a.m. until almost 5:30, I had to run and get more paint, and then someone arrived early!!! All and all it was an exciting day filled with lots of little adventures, even if they weren't the type of adventures I'd choose.
It's funny on even the best laid plans can get derailed so easily. I missed an important meeting yesterday. I am part of a group called Care and Company. We do outreach to the Inland Empire in Southern California. It's a Christian ministry group and we are going to have a food bank and many other services available to those in need. If any of you have ideas on fundraising for this non-profit group please share them. We are always looking for something new.
